On a renovation where you’re retrofitting into existing openings, that depth requirement can genuinely rule triple glazing out entirely, there just isn’t room.
None of this makes triple glazing a bad product. It’s excellent at what it’s designed for. It’s just designed for a climate and noise profile that most of India, Pune very much included, doesn’t actually have.

For most rooms in most Pune homes, double glazing with a decent DGU spec is the right call, full stop. Reserve triple glazing for genuinely extreme situations, hill station second homes, properties on top of major traffic corridors, or specific studio-type acoustic needs where you’ve already maxed out what double glazing plus laminated interlayers can offer.
Single glazing still has a place too, mainly in budget-constrained builds or interior partitions where neither heat nor sound is really a concern. Just don’t use it on an exterior-facing opening and expect it to perform like anything else on this list, because it won’t.
